Helpful Hints for the Websites Paper
1. Download the template for the paper. Rename it correctly now, but
add "Draft1" to your first draft. After each draft change the last
number. (i.e. Draft2). When done editing the paper, remove "Draft#."
2. Print out the paper requirements including the matrix (these are at
the end of the template for the paper). Refer to these at least once a
day. Read the requirements for

and examine the sample paper for formatting (

pdf).
3. Gather your sources for citations. This should include a search of
materials on the course website, the Cook Library
Music
Subject Guide, and other sources.
4. Construct an outline for the paper. Your outline might be along
these lines:
• Introductory paragraph ending
with the thesis statement. Make it interesting.
• Website one summary materials.
Don't simply restate the six or so questions given for the
assignment.
Create a narrative that weaves in the answers for these websites.
Provide a transitional statement to move to your next website.
• Website two summary materials.
Provide a transitional statement.
• Website three summary
materials.
• Concluding paragraph.
5. Reference each citation in your paper. Add more as you continue to
write your paper.
6. Polish and edit your work. Refer to the sample paper. Go to the
writing center for help. Have someone read and suggest changes in your
paper.
